Configure notification preferences

Choose in-app, email, digest, quiet-hour, event, and browser-push preferences for one office user.

Setup · 6 min · Operators · Reviewed 30 Jul 2026

Goal

Receive the operational alerts you need through appropriate channels without creating avoidable noise outside working hours.

Prerequisites

  • Your role can view Communications settings.
  • A tested mailbox is connected for email notifications and digests.
  • Browser notifications are permitted on the current device if you want web push.
  • The company timezone and your preferred quiet hours are known.

Steps

  1. Open Settings > Communications and choose Notifications.
  2. Under Notification Preferences, enable In-App Notifications for alerts in the application.
  3. Enable Email Notifications only when the connected mailbox and notification email are correct.
  4. Enable Daily Email Digest if you want one summary, then select the delivery time.
  5. Enable Quiet Hours and set the start and end in the company timezone. Overnight ranges are supported.
  6. Review the event groups and enable only the alerts required for your role, including booking, payment, driver, task, and maintenance events.
  7. In the browser-push section, subscribe this device and accept the browser permission prompt when push is required.
  8. Trigger a safe internal event, such as assigning a test task to yourself, and confirm the selected channel receives it.
  9. Open Notifications from the application bell and confirm the event is present and can be marked read.
  10. Return to Communications and disable channels that duplicate information without adding operational value.

Expected result

The test event appears through the selected channels, quiet hours and digest timing use the expected company time, and unwanted event groups remain disabled.

Troubleshooting

  • Email notifications do not arrive: verify the global Email Notifications switch, event switch, recipient, connected mailbox, and suppression state.
  • Browser push does not work: confirm browser permission, an active subscription for this device, and the Push Notifications toggle.
  • Alerts arrive during quiet hours: confirm the company timezone and whether the range crosses midnight.
  • A driver assignment alert is missing: confirm the exact driver profile assignment path and the driver's push opt-in. Some assignment paths may need a refresh even when the record is saved.
  • A maintenance alert is missing: driver-document expiry reminders and vehicle-document checks do not share identical background behavior. Verify the owning screen.
  • Too many duplicate alerts arrive: keep in-app as the operational source and enable email or push only for events that require off-screen attention.
