Goal

Add a return, a second pickup or another job to a booking that already exists, or remove a job that is no longer needed, without creating a second booking.

Prerequisites

  • Your role can create bookings. Removing a job also needs the delete right, which owners and admins have by default.
  • The booking is not completed or canceled. Jobs cannot be added to or removed from those.
  • For a new job you know the pickup, dropoff, date, time and the fare agreed for that job.

Steps

  1. Open the booking from Bookings and select the Itinerary tab.
  2. Select Add job. A short form opens.
  3. Enter Pickup, Dropoff, Date, Time and Passengers.
  4. Enter the Fare for this job. Add the Flight and Bags if you know them.
  5. Select Save job. A Job added message confirms it, and the booking total, invoice totals and payment link are updated where needed.
  6. To set a service on the new job, select Edit job on its row, choose a Service (the default is Inherit booking service), and select Save changes.
  7. To remove a job, find it in the Jobs list and select its delete button, named Delete job followed by its number. Read the warning, then confirm.

Expected result

A new job appears in the list with its own pickup, time and fare, and the booking total goes up by that fare. A removed job leaves the schedule and its history stays on the booking.

Troubleshooting

  • If you do not see Add job, your role cannot create bookings. If the form saves with a Could not add job message, check that the booking is not completed or canceled.
  • If you do not see a delete button, check three things. You need the delete right, the booking needs more than one job, and the job list must be in the per-job view. To switch, open the Resources tab and select Assign per job in the assignment card.
  • If the booking is already sold, because it has an invoice, a payment or an accepted offer, removing a job does not change the price or the invoice. Issue a credit note by hand if the client is owed money. The same applies when the job is billed on another booking.
  • If a new job has the same driver and vehicle as the booking, that is expected. A new job starts with the booking's driver and vehicle when it has them. Change them on the job if it needs different ones.
  • If you removed a job by mistake, it cannot be reopened. Add the job again.
