Goal
See where your driver is, how far away they are and who is coming, from the link the transport company shares with you.
Prerequisites
- The transport company uses live tracking and shares it for your booking. Not every company does, and the link appears only when they share it.
- You have the email that says your driver is on the way, or access to the company's client portal.
Steps
- Open the email that says your driver is on the way and select Track your driver live. The button is there only when the company shares tracking for this booking.
- Read the headline at the top. It tells you where things stand, for example "Your driver is on the way" or "Your driver has arrived".
- Watch the map for the vehicle and the estimated time to your pickup. The line under the headline shows how recently the position was updated.
- Follow the steps En route, Arrived, On board and Completed as the journey moves on.
- Check the driver card for the driver's name, the vehicle and its registration. To reach the driver, select Call.
- Check the scheduled pickup time and the destination below the driver card.
- If you use the company's portal, Track live on your next booking, or Track this booking on the booking itself, opens the same tracking page.
Expected result
The page shows your driver's live position and progress while the journey runs, and the headline changes to "Your booking is complete" at the end.
Troubleshooting
- If the email has no tracking button, the company does not share live tracking for this booking. Contact them for an update on your driver.
- If the page says "Tracking unavailable", the link has expired or tracking was turned off. The link stops working once the booking is finished or canceled, about a day after its scheduled end at the latest, or as soon as the company turns tracking off.
- If you received more than one tracking email, use the link in the most recent one. A newer link replaces the older one.
- If the page says "Live · waiting for the driver's location", the driver's position has not reached the page yet. Keep the page open; it updates on its own.
- If the page says "We could not reach the server", check your connection and select Try again.
- If the portal says "Tracking is not available for this booking right now.", tracking is not active for that booking. Contact the company.
- If the page says "This booking was canceled" and you did not expect it, contact the company straight away using the details on the page.
