Create vehicle classes and choose a default
Add vehicle classes from presets or by hand, set capacity and a default class, and switch classes off instead of deleting them.

Goal
Have a vehicle class for each kind of vehicle you quote, with capacity filled in and one class marked as the default.
Prerequisites
- You are an owner or administrator.
- The service catalog wizard has been saved or skipped, so the full Service setup tab is showing.
- You know the passenger and luggage capacity of each class.
Steps
- Open Settings > Services & pricing > Service setup and find the Vehicle Classes card.
- To start from industry-standard classes, select Add from presets, tick the classes you want and select the button that reads Add followed by the number selected. The dialog creates classes only. It does not create rates.
- To add a class of your own, select Add. In the new row enter a label such as Luxury Saloon, Min pax, Max pax and Luggage, then select Save.
- To change a class, select the pencil button next to its label. Edit the label, Tier, Body, Covered by, capacity and luggage, then select the tick button Save changes.
- To choose the default class, select the star button next to its label. The class then shows the Default badge. The default class prices a quote that names no class, and it is the estimate when another class has no rates. An inactive class cannot be made the default.
- To stop offering a class without losing it, switch its Active control off. The label changes to Inactive, and the class no longer appears in class pickers.
- Optional: in the Catalog Review card above the list, rename classes with the pencil button, then select Confirm mapping. Confirming is optional. It marks the list as checked by you and nothing else depends on it.
- Give each active class its rates. The next article, on class rate cards, covers that step.
Expected result
Each class is listed with its label, key, capacity and an Active switch, and one class carries the Default badge. The Usage column shows not in use for new classes and in use by a count once vehicles or enquiries use them.
Troubleshooting
- If the page says Failed to create vehicle class. Try again., check the label is not empty and try again. If it keeps failing, reload the page.
- If deleting a class fails with In use by a number of items, switch the class off instead. Classes that vehicles or bookings use stay protected.
- If the star button is greyed out, the class is inactive. Switch it on first.
- If a class you expect is missing from a class picker on an enquiry or vehicle, check that its switch reads Active.
- If Catalog Review lists a class under Open items as having no rate card, that class has no rates yet and cannot be quoted. Set its rates, or switch it off.
- If creating, editing or deleting a class fails, your role may only be allowed to view settings. Ask an owner or administrator.
