Lesson 8 of 8 · 4 min
No signal? Keep working, then reach dispatch
What still works offline, how saved actions are sent when the signal returns, what Needs attention means, and how to reach dispatch about one job.
What keeps working without a signal
Car parks, tunnels and country roads drop the signal. When that happens a banner says you are offline and that the app is showing the jobs saved on this device. You can keep working the job you have open: status steps, acknowledging instructions, stop times, waiting, incident reports, a proof photo and receipts are saved securely on your phone and sent when the connection returns.
Some things need a live connection and wait until you are back online: accepting or declining a job, changing your duty status, chatting with dispatch, and the sections under More such as Earnings or Documents.
Tap once and let it sync
Tap each action once. A banner counts the actions waiting to sync, then shows that it is syncing. When the office has confirmed them, the banner goes away. Tapping the same step again while it waits does not make it faster; it only gives you more to check later.
To see the queue itself, open More, then Offline & sync. Each item shows Waiting, Sending or Needs attention, and Sync now tries again straight away. Stay signed in until the queue is empty: if your session has expired the queue pauses and asks you to sign in again, and your saved actions stay on the phone meanwhile.
When an action needs attention
Needs attention means a saved action could not be applied by the office. Reopen the job, look at its current state, and contact dispatch before repeating anything.
Reaching dispatch about one job
Open the job and use Message dispatch. The conversation is attached to that job, so the desk knows exactly which booking you mean without asking for a reference. To reach the passenger about the pickup, use Call passenger on the job.
Chat needs data and a phone call does not. Keep your dispatcher's number saved on your phone for the times when there is no data at all and the job cannot wait.
Step by step in the Help Center
- Keep working with no signal and reach the dispatcher
Understand what the driver app does when you lose signal, recover the correct job status afterwards, and contact the dispatch desk about a job.
- Work an assigned job from start to finish
Accept an assignment, move the job through its status steps in order, attach proof of completion, and submit the receipts from that job.
