Go live: turn features on and take your first enquiry
Clear what is required to go live, decide which optional features your operation needs, and follow your first real enquiry until the client has the quote.
Clear what is required, then finish setup
The Getting started card on the dashboard splits open items into Required to go live and Recommended. Required rows check the company profile, region and currency, the operating base, a service with a rate, a vehicle, an administrator and a mailbox that can send. You cannot finish setup while one of them is open.
Recommended items are worth a look rather than a skip. A missing phone number or an unset data retention period will not stop a quote, but a client or an auditor may ask for them. When the required rows are clear, select Finish setup. The same state, grouped by settings section, is in Settings > Setup & status > Overview.
Decide which optional features you use
Settings > Setup & status > Feature readiness lists features you can switch on when your operation needs them, grouped under Payments, Email, Operations, Additional pricing options and Automations. Each card shows Enabled, Needs setup or Disabled, and Enable runs the setup checks again before anything changes.
Go through the list with your own work in mind. Flight tracking is on in a new workspace. Quote availability warns you, while you build a quote, when your own vehicles are already busy at that time; it never blocks the quote. Pipeline auto-sync moves an enquiry along when the client replies. Leave a feature off if nobody will act on it.
Switches that stay off until you turn them on
Some behavior is off in every new workspace and has to be chosen on purpose: live tracking of drivers, automatic payment reminders on invoices, and automatic completion of finished jobs. If your clients expect a tracking link or your accounts team expects reminders to go out, turn those on in their settings before the first real booking, not after a client asks.
Follow the first real enquiry all the way
Take the first real enquiry slowly. Check that it arrived from the mailbox with the right pickup, dropoff, date and passengers. Generate the quote and read the breakdown as you did in the test. Send it, then check with the client that it arrived and that the accept link opens. A quote saved in 4fleet is not yet a quote the client has read.
