Drive a job step by step, from on my way to on board

Move an accepted job through I'm on my way, I've arrived and Passenger on board, with navigation, the greeting sign and the passenger call.

Goal

Keep the office and the passenger informed by moving the job through its steps at the moment each one happens.

Prerequisites

  • You have accepted the job. A job still showing Awaiting your response cannot be started.
  • You are signed in on the phone you drive with.

Steps

  1. Open Today and select the job to open Job details. The tabs Details, Stops, Instructions and Proof hold everything for this job.
  2. If the job shows Critical driver instructions, open Instructions, read them and select Acknowledge instructions. Until you do, the job cannot be started and the app offers Review required instructions.
  3. When you leave for the pickup, select I'm on my way. The job shows En route. If your company uses live tracking, select Share my location now.
  4. To drive there, open Stops and select Navigate next to the pickup. Your maps app opens with the address.
  5. At the pickup point, select I've arrived. The job shows Arrived.
  6. For a meet-and-greet job, open Details and select Greeting sign. The passenger's name fills the screen; tap anywhere to close it.
  7. If you need the passenger, select Call passenger (the phone icon) on the job. If the job says "No phone on file, message the office", select Message dispatch instead.
  8. If you have to wait for the passenger, open Proof and select Start waiting, then Stop waiting when they arrive. Dispatch reviews the recorded time.
  9. When the passenger is in the vehicle, select Passenger on board. The job shows On board and the next step is Complete job.
  10. On a job with stops along the way, open Stops and select Mark arrived and Mark departed at each stop.

Expected result

The office sees each step as it happens: En route, Arrived, On board. The job is ready for Complete job at the dropoff.

Troubleshooting

  • If the step button is greyed out, acknowledge the critical instructions first in Instructions.
  • If you see "Could not update the job status.", the steps only go forward, one at a time. Check which step the job shows and use the button offered. If the job was changed by the office, message dispatch.
  • If the passenger does not turn up, select Mark no-show before you select Passenger on board. Confirm on "Mark passenger as no-show?" and the office is notified. Once the passenger is on board, a no-show is no longer offered.
  • If you see a note that a step is waiting to sync, you are offline. The step is saved on the phone and sent when the signal returns. Do not tap it again.
  • If Call passenger is missing, the office has no phone number for the passenger. Use Message dispatch.
  • If you tapped a step too early, you cannot step back in the app. Message dispatch so the office can correct the times.
