Goal
Have the 4fleet app on the Android phone you drive with, signed in to your driver account, so your location keeps reaching dispatch even when the screen is off.
Prerequisites
- You have accepted your driver invitation and know your email and password.
- You have an Android phone with Google Play and a data connection.
- On iPhone or iPad there is no app to install. Keep using the driver view in the phone's browser.
Steps
- On your Android phone, open the driver view in the browser and sign in. A banner titled Install the 4Fleet app explains that the app shares your live location while a job is running, even when your screen is off.
- Select Get it on Google Play. Google Play opens the 4fleet listing (app id io.fourfleet.app). You can also search Google Play for 4fleet, or use the Google Play link at the bottom of your invitation email.
- Install the app and open it.
- Sign in with your Work email and Password, then select Sign in. Use the same account you created from the invitation.
- If your account uses two-factor authentication, enter the code from your authenticator app.
- Check that the app opens the driver view, with Today, Schedule, Tasks, Earnings and More in the bottom bar.
- To get alerts for new jobs and changes, open More, select Notifications and then Enable alerts, and allow notifications when the phone asks. The app asks for location only later, the first time you select Share my location on a job.
Expected result
The 4fleet app is installed and signed in, and it opens straight to your jobs. From now on, use the app rather than the browser for your jobs, so location sharing keeps working in the background.
Troubleshooting
- If you are on a computer, the banner shows Scan to install it on your phone. Open it and scan the QR code with your Android phone's camera to reach the Google Play listing.
- If Google Play says the app is not available for your device, keep using the driver view in your phone's browser for statuses, proof, receipts and time off, and keep the page open while you share your location. Tell your office which phone model you use.
- If the app shows the sign-in screen every time, check that you are using the same email and password as in the browser. Use Forgot? to reset the password if needed.
- If the app opens but shows no jobs, check Schedule for later dates. If nothing is there either, ask your office whether a job has been assigned to you.
- If you see a message that your driver profile is not linked, your sign-in works but your office still has to connect it to your driver profile. Ask them, then sign in again.
Still stuck? Contact the 4fleet team with the page and what you expected to happen.
