Lesson 4 of 8 · 5 min
Status steps from on my way to complete
Tap each status at the moment it happens: on my way, arrived, passenger on board, complete. Why the order is fixed and when to use no-show.
One button, always the next step
A job moves through four steps, and the job sheet only ever shows the next one: I'm on my way, I've arrived, Passenger on board, then Complete job. You cannot skip a step or go back once it is recorded. The office reads these steps as they happen, so the timing is the information.
Tap each step at the real moment: I'm on my way when you actually leave for the pickup, I've arrived when you are at the pickup point, Passenger on board when they are in the vehicle. A step tapped late tells the office a story that did not happen. The middle steps take one tap, so you can do them without fuss.
Sharing your location
When your company uses live tracking, a Share my location control appears on the job. Turn it on when you set off. Sharing only works for a job that is under way and stops by itself when the job ends. On the Android app, allow location "all the time" when your phone asks, so sharing continues with the screen locked; in a browser, keep the page open.
Meeting the passenger
The job sheet has a Greeting sign button that shows the passenger's name full screen, to hold up at arrivals instead of a paper board. When the client asked for meet and greet, the button is highlighted and marked Meet-and-greet requested. Tap anywhere on the sign to close it.
When the passenger does not come
If you are at the pickup and the passenger never turns up, use Mark no-show and confirm. The dispatch team is told. Follow your company's rule on how long to wait and whether to call dispatch first, because a no-show usually affects what the client is charged. Once the passenger is on board, no-show is no longer offered.
Completing the job
Complete job opens a short form where you can record additional waiting minutes, a receipt, money collected and the end odometer, and add a proof photo if your company asks for one. If critical instructions are not yet acknowledged, or a waiting timer is still running, the form tells you what to do first. Completing more than 15 minutes before the pickup time asks you to confirm that the job really is finished.
