Goal
Work out why 4fleet refuses an action or hides a screen from you, and get the access you need or the right person to do it.
Prerequisites
- You can sign in to 4fleet.
- You know the name of the screen, tab or button you expected to see.
Steps
- Note exactly what you see: a message that your role does not allow an action, a message that you do not have access to a section, or a tab that is simply not there.
- Find your role. If you can open Settings > Team & access > Members, your row shows it. If you cannot, ask an Owner or Admin.
- Match the missing area with who can open it.
- Plan & billing and Finance settings: Owner and Admin only.
- Import & migrate and Developer tools: Owner only.
- Team & access: roles with team access. Inviting and changing members is for Owner and Admin.
- Communications: roles with communications access.
- Analytics and Accounting: roles with the Reports permission.
- Other Settings areas, such as Company, Services & pricing and Documents: roles with settings access. Without edit rights you can look but not save.
- Ask an Owner or Admin to change your role in Settings > Team & access > Members, or to do the task for you.
- After your role is changed, reload 4fleet and open the screen again.
Expected result
You know whether the access is missing because of your role, and either you have the right access now or the right person knows what to do for you.
Troubleshooting
- If the page says "You do not have access to this section", ask a workspace Owner or Admin if you need to change those settings.
- If billing says "You do not have access to billing", it is a role setting and not a plan limit. Ask the account owner.
- If a message says "Your role does not allow this action", the permission for that action is not on your role.
- If you are the Owner and still see this message, check you are in the company you meant. Switch company if you work in more than one.
- If a button is greyed out on a page you can open, you probably have view-only access to it.
- If the message says a feature is not in your plan, that is a plan limit and not a role problem. Read the plan limit guide.
